Quick post between posts because I want to share some lovely photos of our day today. It was in the high 50s, sunny and the sky was amazing. So after having a lazy morning chilling out at home, we decided to take advantage of such a fantastic day and went for a 5-mile hike on Green Mountain. Yes! Finally, Green Mountain. After living in Lakewood for almost 2 years we actually hiked up the large local mountain. And it’s a beauty. Despite the mud, it was the ideal hike for this time of year because it was the perfect temperature – in the summer it would be scorching.

I’ll let the photo {captions} speak for themselves.

Sonora was super excited about going on a hike.

The standard Hartgerink family portrait. Obviously.

I love me some weed. Er wait. That came out wrong.

Ran into this fella halfway up.

Sonora was intrigued by his hat but dismayed by his cold demeanor.

It was kind of pretty.

Oh nothing, just an amazing sky with a mountain range in the background.

Hair grabbing neck scratcher.

I could not resist the composition of snow drifts and clouds. Mm.

Are you kidding me with this sky?

Shot from the top. Note the sleeping baby.

Zonked! I mean she had a hard day riding in the pack, after all. So exhausting.

The Precious.

Just another January day in our part of Colorado. Don’t believe me? Check out this post and this post. See? Mild winters, people.

Love,
Laura
