It’s that time again…!

This week I’ll have my 16/17-week check up and a chance to hear little Hart squirming around again – yay!

Oh, and for those of you who were like me when I had no idea about anything “baby,” weeks don’t really mean anything to you, right? And it’s kind of weird when you ask a pregnant lady how far along she is and she answers with an obscure week like you’re supposed to know what that means. But it really is one of those things that changes your perspective when you understand how much the little nugget grows in just one week. So even though I always used to stare blankly at the mama-to-be, trying to do some quick math in my head (HA! me and math? yeah, we’re not friends) causing an awkward pause in the conversation, I now find myself as “that girl.” Oh well.

Speaking of which, in another four weeks (week 20) it will be the big week…another ultrasound! And for finding out gender…but like I said, we’re not going to. Surprises are way more fun.

Anyway, check out our little egg-shaped avocado.

I think the bump is growing, what do you think?

So to elaborate a little more on the baby expo, we decided a while ago little Hart will be wearing cloth diapers. But now we are just trying to figure out which kind. Pre-folds? Pocket one-size? I think we’re going the most cost-efficient route with the pre-folds, but that begs the question, mom and mom-in-law…how messy is it? I just want to know what I’m getting myself into.

Also, as some of you know, I booked a flight back to the Midwest the week after Christmas! I’m so excited to go back and see everyone again, and their baby bumps or new additions. I can’t believe we’re all getting so old…

‘Tis the season,
Laura
