A lot of realizations this week…and more things I’ve learned about myself.

————————————————————————————————————————-

6.12 – I realized sometimes I just need a rainy day – a day with nothing to do.

6.13 – I realized that sports are way more fun if I know someone in the game. I also realized I’m pretty forgetful – if something is out of sight, it really is out of mind.

6.14 – I realized my favorite dishes are really fatty. Case in point – my primavera pasta (supposed to be healthy) with alfredo sauce (here’s the stumbling block)…recipe calls for two sticks of butter, a pint of heavy whipping cream and half a container of parmesan cheese. Nice.

6.15 – I learned persistence always pays off. After a few weeks of back-and-forth emails, I accomplished a great meeting with the owner of an online publication for which I will be writing articles about Colorado – gocolorado.com. My dream of travel writing is coming true! (another job update post coming soon…)

6.16 – I realized that I have major wanderlust. I am spoiled now living in a vacation state but I still want to see MORE! Anyone want to help us decide where to go out of the country for our five-year anniversary this year?

6.17 – I realized sometimes I get too easily frustrated and I stress myself out. I have to learn to take a deep breath and walk away from the situation for a while so I can come back to it with a clear head.

6.18 – I learned that some people are a little bit extreme when naming their kids unique names – both Christmas and Hurricane have come to our spa for services.

I know some of my daily discoveries aren’t really life lesson material but I try to think of something every day that is at least of some significance to me, even if it seems silly. Like the last one. But what I got out of it: don’t name our future kids unusual names…Hartgerink is hard enough.
